Are you a woman in need of hands-on, structural and emotional healing, in relationship to your belly, pelvis, and reproductive center?
I’m Jillian Anderson, a Writer, Healer, Embodiment Coach, and Practitioner of Abdominal-Pelvic Massage Therapy (as taught by the Arvigo Institute of Maya Abdominal Massage), and I want to help you feel more vital and radiant in your body, than ever before.
The relationship you have with your female reproductive anatomy, affects every other area of your life — Your relationships, your levels of satisfaction, your pleasure, fulfillment, creativity, and inner sense of well-being.
This is important work.
Whether you are healing from a trauma, or just want to feel more aligned and well in your pelvic space, abdominal-pelvic massage is for You.
So, WHAT IS ABDOMINAL-PELVIC MASSAGE AND BODYWORK?
Abdominal-Pelvic Massage and Bodywork is a technique of abdominal massage which is an external non-invasive soft muscle tissue manipulation that re-positions internal organs that have shifted (like the uterus), thereby restricting the flow of blood, lymph, nerve and chi throughout the entire body.
Normally the uterus leans slightly over the bladder in the center of the pelvis, about one and a half inches above the pubic bone. It is held in this position by muscles, the vaginal wall, and ligaments that attach it to the back, front, and sides of the pelvis. Uterine ligaments are made to stretch to accommodate a growing fetus inside and to move freely when the bladder or bowel is full. The ligaments and muscles can weaken, causing the uterus to fall downward, forward, backward or to either side.
A uterus in any of these positions is called tilted or prolapsed. Modern medicine has little or nothing to offer women with this problem. Options may include using the birth control pill, muscle relaxants, or surgery, and women are generally told, "your uterus is tipped, but that is normal and don't worry about it."
Yet women have a laundry list of physical and emotional symptoms that can be addressed and prevented with these simple, noninvasive massage techniques. When reproductive organs shift, they can constrict normal flow of blood and lymph, and disrupt nerve connections. Just a few extra ounces sitting on blood and lymph vessels can cause havoc throughout the different systems in the body.
By shifting the uterus back into place, homeostasis, or the natural balance of the body, is restored in the pelvic area and the surrounding organs. Toxins are flushed and nutrients that help to tone tissue and balance hormones are restored to normal order. This is essential for healthy pregnancy, labor, and delivery.
Old adhesions from invasive treatments to the pelvic and abdominal area, including fibroid tumors, endometriosis, and cesarean delivery are diminished when addressed by Abdominal-Pelvic massage. In addition, digestion, urinary and bladder problems can be helped.
Who This is For:
Abdominal-Pelvic Massage + Bodywork is beneficial for WMN at all stages of life. This work, however, is especially powerful for you if you want any of the following:

Q: My belly and body feel broken since my last child was born. Is this for me?
A: Yes, Yes, Yes. Together we can work on bringing strength and vitality back to your belly and pelvis (and your entire body). Whether you've had a relatively optimal birth, a traumatic birth experience, or anything in between, we can work together to bring your body into greater healing an alignment.
Q: I am having pain during intercourse. Might this bodywork help?
A: Yes! Depending on your unique physiology, and the experiences you've had, there could be a number of reasons why intercourse is painful. Some of the most fulfilling work I have done, has been to help women, who have had cesarean births, reduce their scar tissue, and thereby lift the womb into a more optimal position, which naturally reduced pain during intercourse.
Q: I have heard that optimal pelvic and womb health, has a 'youthing' effect. Is this true?
A: Yep. It's true. The more blood flow you're getting to your reproductive system, the better flow of energy (or chi) through your body, the more you will experience a natural radiance, and glow, that I believe, is an indicator of excellent sexual well-being and vitality.
Q: I'm afraid for my belly and womb to be touched. Is that normal?
A: Yes! The belly, pelvis, and womb, are very intimate areas of the body. It's normal for you to have some fear of another person's hands here. So you know, I always share with you exactly what I'm doing, as I'm doing it, so there are no surprises. For instance, before I begin the womb portion of the massage, I guide your hand to the areas in which I'll be working, so you can get a sense for where my hand's will be.
Q: Is this massage internal at all? Like, do you work inside the vagina?
A: At this time, no. I do not work internally, inside of the vagina (or even on the vulva) with women. I am currently studying to be able to offer that very important work, for women, and I'll let you know when I'm trained and certified. Woohoo! But no, this particular abdominal-pelvic body work I offer, at this time, is all done externally. The closest I get to your genitals is the very top of your pubic bone. I also do lymph massage along your inner thigh, and some pretty deep work on your sacrum and tailbone. But again, I will tell you what we're working on, and when.
